Always meticulously prepared and never without a compelling argument, effective strategy, or creative solution, Sarah Freund is a seasoned litigator who represents clients in a wide range of civil disputes. Sarah complements her powerful advocacy and rigorous legal analysis with a relentless focus on implementing litigation approaches best suited to protecting or advancing her clients’ interests as they define them. Whether adopting an aggressive but strategic posture that takes a matter through to judgment or negotiating a favorable resolution, Sarah dives into the facts and law of each case to position her clients for an optimal outcome.

Sarah’s extensive and diverse experience extends across a broad spectrum of civil and commercial cases, including contract claims, business torts, trust and estate controversies, guardianship proceedings, fraud, construction litigation, class actions, and insurance coverage disputes. She also has substantial experience defending property owners in municipal and regulatory enforcement matters, including building code violations and zoning disputes, often achieving dismissals or significantly reduced penalties.

Proactive and responsive in equal measure, Sarah makes it a priority to ensure that her clients always feel informed, prepared, and confident in how their case is being handled. While she will take every step necessary to achieve her clients’ objectives, she never loses sight of their bottom lines, endeavoring to get the best results in the most cost-effective way possible.

Having earned a Mediation Skills Training Certificate from Northwestern University School of Professional Studies, Sarah is particularly adept at finding creative, early, and positive resolutions of disputes that spare her clients from the costs and disruption of protracted litigation. Similarly, her exceptional legal research and writing talents were sharpened when she served as Staff Editor of the NIU Law Review while earning her law degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law.

When she’s not serving her clients, Sarah likes to spend her time trying new restaurants with her family, staying active outdoors, or reading a book by the fireplace in the winter.
