Combining strategic focus with pragmatic, realistic advice, Robert Taylor serves as a trusted counselor and business advisor for clients on a diverse range of corporate and real estate matters. With experience spanning multiple industries and transactions of all sizes and complexity, he has spearheaded countless deals, helped clients overcome day-to-day challenges and achieve long-term goals, and provided thoughtful guidance on the full spectrum of issues business owners must navigate.
Robert’s work includes real estate transactions, lending transactions, leasing transactions, contract disputes, general business counseling, mergers and acquisitions, and crafting ownership and investment structures. He is also particularly well-versed in the nuanced legal and practical concerns involved in advising utility, data center, and telecommunications companies on regulatory compliance, infrastructure development, and strategic partnership matters.
With his demonstrable commitment to his clients’ success and an approach that appreciates the centrality of their perspectives, priorities, and objectives, Robert regularly acts as outside general counsel for his corporate clients, leading transactional matters himself and leveraging the talents of his colleagues at the firm on commercial litigation, employment, and tax matters.
In his real estate practice, Robert represents landlords and tenants in retail, office, and industrial leasing matters. He has significant experience managing transactions for owners, investors, lenders, and developers involved in real estate finance, property acquisitions and dispositions, equity investment, leasing, and development. With a deep well of knowledge and close, productive working relationships within the lending community, Robert also facilitates the structuring, negotiating, and documentation of commercial real estate and asset-based credit facilities.
For his clients in the utility, data center, and telecommunications industries, Robert assists with fiber leasing and indefeasible rights of use agreements, master service agreements, maintenance and repair agreements, resource sharing agreements, design-build agreements, easements, rights of way, tower agreements, duct/conduit use agreements, and secured and unsecured commercial loans. He also advises clients on raising funds to meet longer-term needs and working capital needs through bank financing, mezzanine financing, and bond financing.
Regularly recognized by his peers for his professional accomplishments, Robert has been named to the Best Lawyers in America List and recognized as a Leading Lawyer. He also shares his insights and perspectives with his colleagues through writing on various legal topics in his wheelhouse. This includes his authoring of “Commercial Real Estate Financing: the Mortgage Lenders Perspective,” published in COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE: FINANCING AND TRANSACTIONAL ISSUES (IICLE®, 2025), as well as “Condominium Construction Finance,” published in CONDOMINIUM LAW: GOVERNANCE, AUTHORITY, AND CONTROLLING DOCUMENTS (IICLE®, 2024).
