Associate attorney Gina Birmingham understands that mastery of the law is just one element of being an effective attorney and counselor. Focusing her practice on real estate, estate planning, and estate and trust administration, Gina prides herself on truly listening to her clients and distilling complex legal issues into understandable, actionable advice that helps them achieve their goals. With a healthy mix of creativity and pragmatism, she develops and presents her clients with options and empowers them with information so they can make informed decisions about matters of the utmost importance to their families and businesses.
Gina’s real estate practice encompasses the full spectrum of commercial property transactions. Representing sellers, purchasers, investors, developers, and banks, Gina brings a collaborative spirit to her work that helps all constituencies focus on the shared goal of an efficient, trouble-free closing. While always vigilant in the protection of her clients’ interests and squarely focused on achieving their objectives, she won’t waste their money or time or put a deal at risk over tangential issues or matters of little consequence.
In her estate planning work, Gina focuses her efforts on crafting strategies and documentation that provide the detail, clarity, and sophistication needed to effectuate her clients’ broadly expressed goals. Knowing that every individual and family comes to the table with their own unique concerns, priorities, and relationship dynamics, she eschews cookie-cutter approaches in favor of personalized plans carefully tailored to meet each client's needs.
Gina is equally adept at navigating the complexities and multifaceted responsibilities involved in administering trusts and estates. She endeavors to ensure the efficient and timely wrapping up of affairs consistent with the decedent’s wishes and her duties as a fiduciary while also deftly diffusing any potential disputes or concerns among beneficiaries and other interested parties.
A graduate of Eastern Illinois University, Gina earned her law degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where she was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honors Fraternity and worked as a legal assistant in real estate. Before joining Latimer LeVay Fyock, Gina spent nearly four years as a general practitioner, primarily focusing on real estate, estate planning, and estate and trust administration matters.
A big Chicago Blackhawks fan, Gina enjoys spending her time away from work with her husband, daughter, and black lab Bailey.
