Bruce Craig

Trusted and relied upon by banks and financial institutions for over 25 years, Bruce Craig has extensive and immersive experience with all aspects and stages of the commercial lending lifecycle. His clients reap not only the benefits of his substantive legal knowledge but also his recognition of what banks and lenders need and expect from their counsel. Responsive and efficient, proactive not reactive, attentive to the smallest detail and always cognizant of the bigger picture, Bruce provides exceptional banking representation in a wide range of matters.

Bruce has expansive knowledge of the banking industry, including loan documentation, SBA loans, litigation, facilities management, OREO matters, leasing and real estate transactions, loan workouts, and negotiated workout agreements.

His perspective and approach are informed by the decade he spent as in-house counsel for Banco Popular North America, where he advised and assisted all of the bank’s documentation units on all issues relating to the preparation of loan documentation for the commercial real estate, commercial lending, business banking, and SBA lending departments. At Banco Popular, he worked extensively with its facilities group on leases, real estate sales, and acquisitions. Bruce also had primary responsibility for advising the bank’s equipment leasing subsidiary on all matters, including the creation, registration, and licensing of a new financing product.

Before joining Latimer LeVay Fyock, Bruce spent a decade as a solo practitioner. While banks and institutional lenders rely almost exclusively on larger firms for legal services, the fact that so many banking clients continued to turn to Bruce while in solo practice is a testament to both the enduring relationships he establishes and the consistent quality of his work.

A graduate of Augustana College, Bruce earned his law degree from DePaul University College of Law.
