When Caroline Smith’s clients make consequential decisions and engage in significant transactions involving their personal assets or business interests, they do so with a complete understanding of the how, the why, and the what to expect. With a collaborative approach, personal attention, and counsel focused on achieving client goals while insulating them against risk, Caroline works with professionals, businesses, families, and owners of closely held companies on estate planning, asset protection, and corporate transactional matters. She develops and implements comprehensive asset planning techniques, retirement, estate, and tax planning strategies, and wealth management programs.

An experienced business lawyer, Caroline represents companies from a wide range of industries on entity formation, corporate governance, commercial transactions, the hiring of new employees and the development of employee handbooks, and the acquisition, sale, and merger of business entities.  Caroline also partners with individual professionals on the negotiation of employment agreements, asset planning techniques, and general estate planning.  

In addition to being an accomplished attorney, Caroline is also an Illinois Certified Public Accountant and Licensed Real Estate Broker. When not serving her clients, Caroline likes to spend time with her family and watch her kids play volleyball.
